Dragonfly and Damsel Creative Jewelry Designs is the work of jewelry designer Brenda Haack. Originally started in Northern Wisconsin, Dragonfly and Damsel's working studio now operates inside SeedCo Studios in the East Lawrence Arts District, in Lawrence, KS. Brenda's work can be found in galleries & shops around the midwest, as well as select art fairs and in studio by appointment. Brenda's jewelry designs are a collision of materials: sterling and fine silver, copper, Lake Superior stones, torch-fired enamel and natural gemstones. The result is beautiful, natural, one of a kind jewelry. She uses a variety of metalsmith tools to create each piece of jewelry; hammers, saws, torches, tumblers and more. Powdered glass becomes colorful, vibrant enamel, with a torch. The metals are cut with a jeweler's saw, fused or soldered, hammered and polished. Basalt stones are hand-picked from Lake Superior and then drilled and stacked zen-like, or hand set in sterling silver bezels. Dragonfly and Damsel creative jewelry designs are simple, modern, classy, original and fun. Oh! and affordable. |
